5 Gaudy Accessories To Finally Stop Wearing

5 Gaudy Accessories To Finally Stop Wearing

Time to Retire These So-Called Classics

It’s not always easy to keep up with the latest trends. Sometimes, we stick with what we know—and what we like—for a timeless style that doesn’t adhere to what’s “in fashion.” However, not every accessory withstood the test of time, and we’re here to break down a few you can officially kiss goodbye.

1. Large Bracelets

Bracelets aren’t going anywhere, but stacked ones certainly are! You want to show off your arms, especially with sleeveless tops, so stacking chunky bracelets only detracts from a modest closet. Those big leather bracelets can probably go, too.

2. Weirdly Shaped Purses

Don’t worry—handbags will always be a fashion staple. But novelty purses with strange shapes or quirky designs? Yeah, those don’t really belong on the red carpet. Stick with neutral tones and classic shapes for an accessory that goes with any outfit.

3. Loud Phone Cases

It was once wise to rock loud phone cases. You know the ones we mean: bold colors with zany patterns, all of which displayed your personality. The thing is, they were more of a fad than a timeless option.

4. Too Many Keychains

Speaking of personality, what better way to showcase yours than with a keychain collection? You can stick them anywhere, and for a while, people did! But a plethora of gaudy keychains doesn’t always have the effect you want, and can instead just clutter your purse.

5. Chunky Necklaces

Let’s save these for Wilma Flintstone. Chunky necklaces still make a statement, just not the one you were hoping for. They’re far too busy nowadays and don’t complete an outfit, but detract from it.
