Are These Really Worth the Hype?
With so many skincare products on the market, how do you tell the gems from the gimmicks? Are those peddled products actually beneficial, or are they just overpriced dew drops that keep you in line with the latest fads? Don’t you worry, we have a set list of some items that got a bigger rap than they deserved.
1. Dew Drop Serums
Serums are just about everywhere on shelves, and while they aren’t totally useless, those so-called dew drops got far too much time in the sun. Most of the time, a lot of them had ingredients you didn’t really need, and they didn’t offer much more than your average item.

2. Vitamin C Serums
Don’t get us wrong: vitamin C is important, both for your skin and in your diet! However, a lot of people took this idea and ran with it, slapping the label on any ol’ product. Next thing you know, people avoided perfectly good skincare if it didn’t have vitamin C.
3. Collagen
It’s not that collagen is a bad choice; it’s that it’s misunderstood. Before you stick just anything on your face, you should always read the label. You can even consult with a dermatologist to see if collagen is right for you. In the wrong circumstances, it does more harm than good.
4. Niacinamide
It’s a tale as old as time: include an unpronounceable ingredient and everyone flocks toward it! Niacinamide has its uses, but it’s also not a miracle compound; many skincare-lovers barely notice a difference with the stuff.
5. Snail Mucin
We’ve all heard that snail mucus can keep your skin baby soft. While that may be true, it’s also more of a gimmick than anything else. It’s far from the only ingredient that delivers smooth skin!
