Makeup No-Nos
When it comes to makeup, you definitely want to know how to do it right. Apply it wrong or develop bad habits—like sleeping with it on—and you might just end up ruining your look and skin. To make sure you're always looking your best and your makeup stays flawless, here are five major makeup don'ts you'll want to avoid.
1. Sleeping with It On
Sleeping with your makeup on is a major no-no. If you do it, you're only spreading bacteria (and makeup) to your sheets and clogging your pores, which can lead to breakouts. Always remove all traces of product on your face before going to bed.
2. Using Expired Products
You should also never use expired makeup products, be it foundation, concealer, blush, lipstick, or mascara. Anything that goes on your eyes and lips or around these areas should always be regularly replaced, or else you may experience infections.
3. Choosing the Wrong Shade
Another major makeup mistake you don't want to make is choosing the wrong shade. If you do, and you don't make sure to blend all the way down to your neck, you'll end up looking wonky and two-toned in photos. Make sure to always shade match before purchasing any concealer or foundation.
4. Not Regularly Cleaning Tools
Just as you should always make sure to thoroughly remove all your makeup before sleeping, you should also always regularly clean your tools and brushes. If you don't, you may end up giving yourself an infection or triggering a breakout.
5. Too Dark Eyebrows
Your eyebrows frame your face, so you don't want to make them too dark or too light. You also don't want to leave any harsh lines or make them look like they've been drawn on with a Sharpie. Natural is best when it comes to brows, so don't try to change your regular shape too much!
