Unlock the Power of Your Curls
Curly hair might look stunning on the surface, but anyone who rocks the hairstyle knows just how much arm strength it takes to maintain it. Deep conditioning routines, special products, and specific drying methods are just the tip of the iceberg, but we’re here to help walk you through the most important steps.

1. Deep Condition Every Week
A little deep conditioning goes a long way, especially when you have curly hair. Curls can take many forms, and coils are much harder to care for than standard waves. Luckily, weekly conditioning keeps your hair moisturized and manageable.
2. Wash Less Frequently
We know it sounds like a nightmare to leave your hair for a few days, but it’s actually one of the best ways to care for it. Of course, everyone’s head is different, so you might need to wash more often than someone with drier scalps—but the main point is that you avoid over-washing.
3. Apply Your Products to Wet Hair
Wet hair, damp hair, what’s the difference? Unfortunately, it’s pretty big! Damp hair is moist to the touch, whereas wet hair is literally dripping. Waves benefit from moisture, but those curls? Your products should go in when you’re still wet.
4. Diffuse on Low Heat
We’re all guilty of blasting the dryer on high heat. We just don’t have the time! However, you might want to carve out a few more minutes in your schedule; diffusing on low heat stops frizz in its tracks.
5. Scrunch Out the Water
It’s important to get out some water before you turn on the dryer or curling iron. Don’t make the mortal mistake of rubbing your head with an everyday towel. Curls need TLC, and that means gentle scrunching and a microfiber towel!
