Dos And Don'ts Of Synthetic Wig Care

Dos And Don'ts Of Synthetic Wig Care

Take Care of Every Kind of Hair

Regardless of how you style your hair, it deserves to be treated right. Synthetic wigs come with their own rules and techniques for proper management, and if you’re new to the game, it’s not always easy to keep on top of the best practices. Not to worry—we’re here to make life easy.

1. Do Use the Right Products

Synthetic wigs won’t thrive with your everyday shampoo and conditioner. Companies know how valuable they are, and that’s why they’ve developed special formulas you need for the best strands around. Make sure you invest in the right products.

2. Don’t Expose It to Heat

Exposing wigs to heat is as damaging as you think! Try not to use any flat irons, hair dryers, or curling irons. Heat styling can cause even more damage to synthetic hair than natural strands, and you could see real trouble.

3. Do Wash Them Sparingly

No matter what kind of hair you have—wash it sparingly! Contrary to popular belief, you don’t need to hit the shower every day, and in fact, doing so can actually strip hair of its natural oils. With synthetic wigs, constant washing can cause just as much breakage.

4. Don’t Sleep With It On

It’s tempting to wear a stylish wig everywhere you go, but sleeping with it can cause all kinds of breakage and frizz. It’s best to store them for the next day, lest you wake up with a beehive on your head.

5. Do Use a Stand

Wig stands were invented for a reason! To ensure a long-lasting head of hair, store yours on a stand. They’ll keep their shape, they won’t frizz, and will even dry naturally.
